Obituary of Veronica Sloan

Veronica "Vera" Sloan, 69, of Pomona, NY passed away peacefully on August 6, 2017. She was born on February 29, 1948 in County Galway, Ireland to Patrick & Bridget Size. Vera married the love of her life Patrick J. Sloan in September of 1971 in London. She was a self-employed cosmetologist for many years. Vera & Patrick were members of the Irish Cultural Center in Blauvelt and were very proud of their Irish Heritage. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known for making a warm, loving home for family and friends and her affectionate nature. Vera is survived by her loving husband Patrick, her beloved children Lisa, Brian (spouse Devyn), Darrin (spouse Ericka), her cherished & adored grandchildren Logan, Caleb and Evangeline as well as her caring brothers, Thomas Size, Richard Size and sisters, Margaret Lennon, Nell Doherty and Mary O'dea and spouses, along with numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends & relatives on Thursday August 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Vera on Friday Aug. 11th at 10 AM in St. Peters Church in Haverstraw with internment to follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Haverstraw.
