Obituary of Katherine Mary Byrnes

Katherine Mary Byrnes, of Garnerville, NY, died peacefully after a long illness on October 25, 2014. She was 79. Katherine was born on December 28, 1934 in Suffern, NY to Joseph Barrett Byrnes and Cecelia Gertrude Byrnes (nee Larkin). She was a graduate of St. Peter's Girl's School in 1948, and a graduate of Haverstraw High School in 1952. Until her retirement, she worked for many years at the Low Tor Ice Center. Katherine is survived by many cousins and friends, and was predeceased by her sister Cecelia Madelene Byrnes, and by her parents. Friends may call at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Katherine on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw.
