Obituary of Mary A. Costello

Mary Costello of Tomkins Cove, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 18 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 5, 1935 in NY, NY. Mary was raised in the Inwood section of Manhattan and attended Cabrini High School. Mary was a resident of Rockland County for 42 years and known and loved by many people. She and her husband Michael are charter members of The Irish American Cultural Center and Mary volunteered Tuesday evenings at Immaculate Conception Religious Educational Program. Mary is predeceased by her parents Martin & Mary (O'Brien) Moran, and her brother Joseph Moran. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael of 51 years, her children, Kathleen Costello, Pomona, NY, Mary Brady and her husband Gerry of Tomkins Cove, NY, Patricia Costello-Schaefer, and her husband Louis Schaefer of Bradenton, Florida and her only son Michael Costello; One sister, Sister Catherine Moran, OSF, Bronx, NY. She is survived by her grandchildren, Patrick, Brandyn, Kelly, Ryan, Connor and Sean. Mary is also lovingly remembered by the Moran and Flynn families, whom she has always considered to be part of her own family. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, January 21, and Thursday, January 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point on Friday, January 23rd. Burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
