Obituary of Diane Reichert

Diane Reichert, 81, of Stony Point, NY passed away on April 8, 2018. She was born on April 6, 1937 in Marlboro, MA, to George and Alice Forrest who predeceased her. Diane was married to Rudolph Reichert in September 1959, who also predeceased her. Diane worked at the Nanuet Public Library for 40 years as a Circulation Supervisor. She was an active member of the Stony Point Seniors, the AMC Mountain Club and a long time parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, hiking, biking, kayaking and cross country skiing with her many friends. She enjoyed many outdoor activities. She was an avid animal lover and had many cats and dogs over the years. She most especially loved her over 45 years vacationing in Lake George, NY with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking for her family but what she enjoyed the most was family gatherings and attending her grandchildren’s many sports activities and school functions. She is survived by her beloved children Lynne Cawley and husband Tom of Bloomingburg, NY, Laura Lichtblau and husband Harvey of Montvale, NJ, Christopher Reichert and wife Lorraine of Upper Saddle River, NJ and Eric Reichert and wife Elaine of West Milford, NJ. Her cherished and adored grandchildren Christine Cawley, Sarah Lichtblau, Matthew Reichert, and Aaron Reichert. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Forrest and nephew Joakim Roumain.

The family will receive friends and family at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY on Thursday April 12th from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 13th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY at 10 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Diane’s memory to the American Cancer Society and Hi Tor Animal Care Center, 65 Firemen’s Memorial Drive, Pomona, NY 10970.
