Obituary of Marie Ramundo Borth

Marie Ramundo Borth passed away peacefully on July 20, 2017, at Orange Regional Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. She was 67 years old. Marie was born on January 12, 1950. She was the daughter of Joseph Ramundo and Anna (Felice) Ramundo of Stony Point, NY, where she was born and raised. She graduated from North Rockland High School in 1968. After graduating, she worked for the Rockland County Health Department for 17 years, then had a career with IBM for 14 years. She retired in 2012 from the Orange County Health Department, where she was instrumental in the development of Orange County's first medical examiner's office. She married Michael J. Borth and lived happily with him in Goshen, NY, for 30 years. Together, they had two children, Michael and Marilyn Borth. Marie was an avid knitter, crocheter, and cross-stitcher. She took immense pride and joy in creating thoughtful items for her family and friends. Known for her legendary Christmas cookies, she was an outstanding cook and baker and loved to spoil her family with her culinary delights. She was a passionate Yankee fan and could often be heard cheering while watching their games. Most importantly, she was a loving and supportive wife, mother, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Always shunning the spotlight, she offered a welcoming ear to anyone that needed one and constantly put her family and friends above herself. She took pride in everything she did and lived her life with quiet love and care. She was a saint without the title and we are all grateful for every moment we had with her. She touched so many lives and will be sorely missed by all. Marie is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Michael J. Borth; her children, Michael of NYC and Marilyn of Goshen; her sisters, Josephine Ziotis and Shirley Ramundo of Stony Point; her nieces, Smaragda Thomas of Nyack, and Anna Kurzrok of NYC, and nephew, Matthew Ramundo of Westchester. She is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Visitations will be Monday July 24th from 4 pm to 9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral home. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Marie on Tuesday, July 25th at 11 AM at St Peters Church in Haverstraw with Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery Memorial contributions Donations Can be made to United Hospice.
