Obituary of Theresa Dolores Della Rocca

Theresa Dolores (Pacella) Della Rocca 82, of Garnerville passed away peacefully on August 3, 2017. She was born on March 12, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Michael & Gertrude (Marotta) Pacella. Theresa belonged to the West Haverstraw Senior Citizens including its Red Hat Society, of which Theresa originated its name "The Perennials." In her early days Theresa loved playing Mahjong and bowling. Besides her parents Theresa is predeceased by a son Michael and her two brothers Anthony & Frank Pacella. In 1954 she married her ex-husband Hercules Della Rocca, he survives her. Theresa is survived by her loving children Jeanine Vitale of Bay Shore, Long Island, Ernest of Garnerville, Stephen of Suffern, Christopher of Garnerville, Peter of Garnerville, Teresa (Steven) Margolis of Washingtonville, Suzanne (John) Toscano of Thiells her cherished grandchildren Joanna , Michael, Amanda, Matthew, Dominique, Johnny , Joseph and her adored great grandson Owen Joseph Turi. Also surviving are her caring sisters & Brothers Molly Picariello, Angie Mangano, Michael & Ray Pacella as well as many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends & relatives on Sunday Aug. 6th from 4 - 9PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Theresa on Monday Aug. 7th at 10 AM in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church with Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
