Harry "Buddy" Lewis 92, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018. He was born on November 2, 1925 to Paul & Edna (Weller) Lewis . Buddy, as he was known, proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He worked as a general contractor for 30 years for his own company, Shirl-Ann Construction in Stony Point. Buddy was a Building Inspector in various villages in Rockland County for 25 years. He was a councilman on the Stony Point town board for 16 years and served as a Stony Point Police Commissioner for 12 years. Buddy was a member of the Leo Ladders American legion post for 69 years. He also was a past president of the Stony Point Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow. Buddy was an avid outdoorsman. Harry is predeceased by his parents, loving wife Shirley (August 21, 2017) and his brother, William Lewis. He is survived by his cherished daughter Pamela (Joseph) Abate of Sloatsburg, his adored grandchildren Melissa (William) Springer and Jason (Meredith) Abate, his beloved great grandchildren Lilybeth and Liam as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Also surviving are his caring two sisters Elizabeth McElroy, Jean Munroe and his brother Ralph Lewis.
The family will receive friends & family on Tues. March 13th from 4 - 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. Harry's religious service will held at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Warren Brandt on Weds. March 14th at 10 am. Interment will follow in the F. Loescher Rockland County Veterans Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Harry's memory to Stony Points Lions Club, 79 S.
