Ann (Conway) Hanus, 71, devoted bride, mother and nanny, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 with her loving family by her side. The daughter of John and Margaret Conway, she was born on October 20, 1946 in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. She was the wife of Edward Hanus for 47 years. Ann retired from the Haverstraw Kings Daughters Library after 37 years of service.
Ann loved nothing more than a day at the beach, a good party and a Highbridge story.
She is survived by her husband Edward of Stony Point; daughters Jennifer (Jeff) Ehlers, Amy (Thomas) Lucey, Julie, and son Edward Hanus; grandchildren: Jack, Liam, Danny, Lila, Abby, Ava and Emma; sister Mary (Jack) Howard; brother John (Rosemary) Conway, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother James Conway and her nephew Denis Conway.
Ann's family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 1-4 & 7-10 PM at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, GARNERVILLE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ann on Saturday, November 18 at 11 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point, with interment to follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ann's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
