Obituary of Roseanna D'Antonio

Roseanna G. (Colavito) D'Antonio, 50, of Garnerville, NY, passed away on November 14, 2017 in Suffern, NY, surrounded by her loving family after a long, hard fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born on december 15, 1966 in BRooklyn, NY to Domenico and Angela (Rinaldi) Colavito. They moved to Village on the Green in Haverstraw in 1971. She attended eight years at St. Peter's School and was a 1985 graduate of North Rockland High School. Roseanna was very active in St. Peter's Church throughout her high school years. She was in the choir, CYO HS program, and the Passion Play. She was a member of the NRHS Marching Band as a dancer. During her childrens' school years, she taught St. Peter's Religious Education for 20 years. She taught 2nd grade and 3rd/4th grade Reconciliation/Penance & Communion classes. Roseanna also enjoyed being the co-leader of her daughter's Heart of the Hudson Girl Scout Troop for 13 years. She enjoyed planning their Girl Scout adventures with their leader and loving friend, Siobain DeGroat. Roseanna attended Berkeley College in Eastwick, NJ and White Plains, NY. She graduated in 1986 with an Associates in Applied Science for the Executive Secretarial Program. She worked 23 years for her dad's construction company, C&D Fireproofing & Plastering Corp, and was currently employed with Feldstein & Stuart, LLP, which she referred to as God's Blessing. In December 1989, she met the love of her life, Joseph D'Antonio, on a blind date. After three months, they were engaged. They married a year later on April 27, 1991 in St. Peter's Church. They have been blessed to be married for 26 years and have three children. Roseanna enjoyed family time, especially their family vacation spent at the Jersey shore in Wildwood, NJ and her family reunion in PA each year.She reserved weekends for family time with her in-laws and with her family. She loved watching her children, nieces, nephews and listening to their stories of school, friends, and adventures. Her family was her world. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph D'Antonio, and their three loving children: Joseph, Peter and Marlena, all of Garnerville, NY; by her loving parents Domenico & Angela Colavito; her siblings: Christina Anfinson, Dominic and Catherine (Zino) Colavito, Edmund D'Antonio, Julianne D'Antonio, Celeste (D'Antonio) & Chris Tenore; her nieces and nephews: Giana, Dominic, Christina, Brandon, Nicholas & Julianna, and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins in NY, PA, CO and Italy. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, GARNERVILLE, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Roseanna on Friday, November 17 at 10AM at St. Peter's & St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Haverstraw, with interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Roseanna's memory to either: Bobbi Lewis Cancer Center at Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Peter's & St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, or to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
