Obituary of Loretta G O'Sullivan

Loretta G. O'Sullivan, 91, of Bardonia, entered into eternal rest on Mon April 16, 2013. She was born on March 22, 1922 in the Bronx to Herman & Amelia (Nee Wagner) O'Neill. Loretta was raised & educated in the Edwater Park section of the Bronx. She married her loving husband Dr. Timothy W. O'Sullivan on August 3, 1946 in St. Francis DeChantel Church in the Bronx. He predeceased her on Oct 23, 1985. Loretta was de devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother, who raises her six children as well as working in her husband's office. She was very active in the St. Augustine's Church community. Loretta was an adult supervisor for the CYO for many years; she also co-founded & ran the St. Augustine's Blood Bank for over 20 years. She was a life member of the St. Augustine's Big Sister's, as well as being active in the church Altar Society and church plays for a number of years. After her husband passed away Loretta became an active volunteer in the church rectory for over 20 years. And was still active till about 6 months ago. In 2007 Loretta was honored by St. Augustine's church for over 50 years of service to the church. She was also inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame in St. Patrick's Cathedral by Cardinal Dolan. Loretta also served as president of the Germond's Condominium Association for many years. Loretta wanted to thank everyone who she worked with at St. Augustine's and the Germands Condominiums over years and she wanted to let them know how much she enjoyed being involved with them and how much affection she had for them. Besides her husband Loretta is predeceased by her son Timothy & sister Mildred Wakefield. She is survived by her loving children Raymond (Sue) of Monroe, NY, Donald of Monroe, NY, Stephen (Lori) of Goshen, NY, Laura (Steven) Taylor of Lyndhurst, N.J. Gerard (DJ Jerry) of Bardonia,NY and her Cherished grandchildren Ryan, Sean, Jenna O'Sullivan, Shannon (Michael) Katzman, Edward (Jen), Amanda, James (Jessica)O'Sullivan, Karen (Christopher) DeCarlo, Ashley, Steven Taylor & Mary Margaret O'Sullivan. Also her adored 6 great grandchildren Emma, Ella & Ian Katzman, Sophia & Lilah and Aiden O'Sullivan, Evelyn DeCarlo and many nieces & nephew's. The famiy will receive friends & relatives on Friday April 19th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan's Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Loretta's mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. Augustine's Church on Saturday at 10 AM, with Interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
