Obituary of Susan M Burke

Susan M. Burke of Stony Point, NY, passed away on April 12, 2014, she was 70 years old. Susan was born on August 15, 1943 in the Bronx, N.Y. to Michele and Louise (nee Baffuto) Puglisi. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William, in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Gina Marie Loiacono of New Jersey, and her son, Michael Loiacono and wife, Melissa of Campbell Hall, N.Y. and Susan's three grandchildren, Michael, Alex, and Isabella. Susan retired from the Rockland County Clerk's office after 20 years of service as a file clerk. She also continued to beautify many friends with her love of hairstyling for over 40 years in and around Rockland County, N.Y. Susan was very active in her community. Over the years she volunteered at The Marian Shrine, Stony Point, NY and Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, N.Y. She was a member of the Stony Point Seniors, the Widow and Widowers Group of St. Augustine's Church, New City, NY, and the Hudson Valley Red Hats. Susan also received a certification as a Bereavement Support Group Facilitator and worked alongside others at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville, N.Y. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 18, from 4pm-8pm and Saturday, April 19, 2pm--4pm and 7pm-9pm at TJ McGowan Sons funeral Home Garnerville NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Susan on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY at 11:00am with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
