Obituary of Madeline E. McErleane

Madeline E. McErleane, of Haverstraw, passed away on May 9, 2014. She was 90. Born to Francis and Madeline (McGuigan) Finn on May 7, 1924 in the Bronx, Madeline lived most of her life in Haverstraw. She married her beloved late husband Stephen in 1944. Madeline will be remembered by all for her social, upbeat demeanor, her love of music, her independent spirit, and for her volunteer work at the Don Bosco Shrine. Madeline is survived by her loving children: Stephen, Dennis (Joann), Judith, Richard and Kevin McErleane, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Stephen, Erin, Ann, Joseph, John, Danny and Tara McErleane, Mary Ellen Henderson, and Christopher Dunn, as well as her great-grandchildren: Dennis, Dominic and Eleanor Henderson, Jace McErleane and Timothy Hill. Madeline was predeceased by her son Timothy, her husband Stephen, and her parents. Madeline's family will receive friends at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, on Sunday, May 11 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 12 at 10am at St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw, with interment to follow at F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
