Obituary of Joan M Gizzi

Joan M. Gizzi, 83, of Stony Point, a lifelong North Rockland resident, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2014. She was born on Sept. 4, 1930, in Garnerville, NY to Ryerson & Elizabeth (Conroy) Babcock. Joan married the love of her life, Philip J. Gizzi, on August 26, 1950, in St. Peter's Church. Joan enjoyed sewing, knitting & crocheting. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her sister Norma Ambrose. Joan is survived by her loving Husband of 63 years, Philip J.Gizzi, her beloved children Philip Jr. (Patricia), Richard, Jeffrey (Julie), Christopher (Holly), Joan Venet (Wilfred) and her adored grandchildren Philip III, Kristine, Michael, Christy, Nicole, Kimberly, Meredith, Lauren, Jessica, Joseph, Daniel, Richard, Thomas, Steven and her cherished 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving is Joan's caring sister Eileen Cox. The family will receive friends & relatives on Friday May 30th, from 4 - 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 133 Broadway Haverstraw, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Joan on Sat. May 31st, at 10 AM in St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw with interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
