Obituary of Francis J. McNicholas

Francis J. McNicholas, 89, peacefully passed away on May 31, 2018. He was born on April 28, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to John & Jennie (Beirne) McNicholas. Frank proudly served his country in The US Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life Joan Martinez on May 14, 1960 in St. Eugene’s Church in Yonkers.  Frank was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. He enjoyed skiing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and doing house projects.  Frank is predeceased by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters as well as his granddaughter Emily Faith. Frank is survived by his loving wife Joan, his beloved children Rob and his wife Jen and Mark, his cherished & adored grandchildren Brian, Kaitlyn and Sara. He will be missed by his loving dog Murphy. Also surviving are numerous nieces & nephews. 
The family will receive friends & relatives on Monday June 4th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Francis on Tues June 5th at 10 AM in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church with interment to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.
